Gay bars pensacola2/4/2024 ![]() Honestly, you’ll get more hate in this town from driving around with a “I love Joe Biden” flag waving in the wind than a rainbow flag, if that gives you any indication. You get the occasional street preacher interference during Pride events, but it doesn’t escalate much beyond that. That all being said, we don’t have a gayborhood like Chicago or New York, and you won’t find the same level of tolerance that you would in larger cities, but “the gays” are pretty much left alone here. Our last “all are welcome here,” woman-owned, queer space closed during the pandemic. What you won’t find is a lesbian bar or femme space in town, unfortunately. We also have a pretty vocal trans advocacy organization in town. There is also a charitable organization called Sunday’s Child that awards grants to local organizations with inclusion in their mission statements (it isn’t exclusively gay, but it was started by gay people). There’s an LGBT film festival going on this weekend that occurs annually. ![]() Alga brewery in the most desirable neighborhood in town is hosting monthly all-ages drag shows as well. The Roundup is more chill and geared toward older folks (it’s been around a long time). Cabaret is a younger, more crowded, club vibe on the weekends. Cabaret and The Roundup are two gay bars downtown that both have been around for years and host karaoke, drag bingo, and several drag shows throughout the week. We hit up the beach bars and there were TONS of women everywhere (SCORE) However, we found out pretty quickly that Memorial Day weekend was a sort of gay.
